Frances Edmonds
Director - Lawyer
Frances joined Shanahans in 2005 and became a director in 2013. She specialises in residential and commercial property transactions and estate planning, with a particular focus on residential development. Frances is passionate about helping builders, developers, and homeowners navigate legal complexities with confidence. Known for her practical mindset, sharp humour, and calm manner, Frances makes legal processes feel manageable. Outside of the office, she enjoys tackling New Zealand's Great Walks and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Tamsin Reeves
Director - Lawyer
Tamsin joined Shanahans in 2022 and was appointed director in 2023. Practising law in West Auckland since 2017, she has built a strong reputation in estate administration, wills, enduring powers of attorney, residential property conveyancing and trusts. Tamsin is known for her pragmatic approach, clear communication, and ability to find workable legal solutions. Whether helping clients plan for the future or manage complex estates, she ensures they feel supported and informed. Outside of work, she enjoys the theatre, family adventures, and lifelong learning.

Mary Shanahan
Director - Lawyer
With over 40 years of legal expertise, Mary Anne has been a trusted advisor to generations of clients since joining Shanahan & Co. as a staff solicitor in 1981. She became a partner with her father, Mick Shanahan, in 1988 and continued the family legacy under the Shanahans name following his passing. In 2013, she and Frances Edmonds co-founded Shanahans Law Limited. Mary Anne specialises in conveyancing, trusts, wills, estates, and matrimonial property. She has served on legal and community boards and continues as a director of several organisations. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, tramping, cruising, musical theatre and exploring Māori art.

Amelia Sirimanne
Senior Associate - Lawyer
With over a decade of experience, Amelia began her legal career in community law in 2011 before moving into private practice in West Auckland. She specialises in relationship property, residential property transactions, wills, enduring powers of attorney, and applications under the PPPR Act. Amelia is known for her compassionate, client-focused approach and ability to provide practical, tailored solutions. Outside work, she enjoys samba dancing, board games, and exploring the outdoors.

Senior Associate - Lawyer
Shaun began practising law in 2014 and brings over a decade of experience to his role at Shanahans. He works mainly in commercial and property law, advising on commercial leases, business sales, and shareholder agreements. Shaun also specialises in property subdivisions, helping clients navigate the complexities of land development with confidence. Shaun is known for his ability to explain legal matters in plain English and deliver practical, solutions-focused advice that helps clients move forward with confidence.

Wendy has been with Shanahans since 1996 and qualified as a Legal Executive in 1992. She is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives, enabling her to take statutory declarations. She specialises in residential conveyancing, refinancing, Homesmart loans, and KiwiSaver withdrawals. Known for her warm, practical, and supportive nature, Wendy helps clients feel reassured and informed through what can be one of life’s more stressful experiences—buying or selling a home.

With over 25 years of legal experience, Deidre specialises in estate administration. She guides families through the legal steps after losing a loved one with compassion and care. Deidre is known for her step-by-step approach and calm, professional manner, giving clients reassurance and clarity. Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, cycling scenic routes, and playing the piano.

Renee has over 10 years of experience in the legal industry and graduated in 2017. She specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing and is known for making legal processes feel straightforward and stress-free. With a practical mindset and strong attention to detail, Renee provides clear guidance and reliable support through every stage of a transaction. In 2024, Renee relocated to Brisbane and now works remotely, continuing to deliver the same high standard of service—thanks to Shanahans’ flexible approach to modern working.

Lisa joined Shanahans in 2024 and has quickly become an essential part of the team. With extensive experience in accounts and office coordination, she plays a key role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Known for her warm nature and problem-solving mindset, Lisa helps create a calm, efficient environment for clients and colleagues alike. Family is everything to Lisa—both at home and at Shanahan’s Law. With a big extended family, she cherishes time with loved ones and enjoys unwinding in the garden.
